The grand dad of action is back, muscles pumped up with HGH and face de-wrinkled with Botox and Hollywood surgeons.
I knew before hand that this would be a very violent movie. I guess that was probably the reason why I saw it. I mean, you don't go see a Rambo movie for the acting and story - you go for the blood and guts, and the action. Sylvester Stallone's new blood fest has plenty of that.
Heads being perforated with big bullet holes or shot clean off, bodies torn in half in violent explosions, women and children massacred by the evil army of Burma. This movie has it all. And in the center of it, of course we have the aging Rambo, who saves the day by slaying all the evil doers. He probably killed lots more people than the Burmes army ever did, but hey he's one of the good guys.
Rambo gave me exactly what I expected to see. A story so tiny it could have been written down on a small piece of toilet paper - together with the few words uttered by the hormone-laden hero. This movie has no surprises what so ever but lots of action and gore to make up for it. Probably one of the most violent action movies I have seen, so far.
My score: 2 out of 5
