Bob Maconel (Christian Slater) is a quiet man in his 40's. An cubicle slave that pretty much keeps to himself and doesn't bother anybody. Bob's favourite fantasy is to blow up the office building with everyone in it. His talking goldfish convinces him to bring a gun to work one day - to set things straight.
I really liked this little dark satire. It's beautiful to look at. The cinematography is great and I love the various effects used to visualize the mindset of Bob. Christian Slater has never looked this old and nerdy. He is perfect for the part. The only reason I won't give this movie a five out of five is the ending, which felt rushed and made a bit too easy.
Still, highly recommended. A well crafted, beautiful satire.
My score: 4 out of 5
