Star Trek bootleg trailer

Posted on Jan. 18th 2008 22:41 by Bjorn 1 Comment »

Soon it’s opening night for Cloverfield in USA and just before that monster movie they will show the Star Trek teaser. A digicam bootleg has already been released on the net. It’s a bit dark and doesn’t show much from the movie - because obviously it’s still shooting and there’s really not much to show yet. However, being an old trekker (since Next Generation was first aired in the 80s) this gave me goose bumps. How long do we have to wait for this movie? A year? Oh maaaan….

Doomsday

Posted on Jan. 16th 2008 19:46 by Bjorn No Comments »

“This is the end of the world”. Oh I like the look of this. The trailer for Doomsday got supreme B-movie action written all over it. To bake this cake, take one part Mad Max 2, one part Escape from New York, throw in a hot babe, Malcolm McDowell and stir it with lots of action. Directed by Neil Marshall (The Descent, )

Planet of vampires

Posted on Jan. 13th 2008 15:55 by Bjorn No Comments »

If you ever wonder where Ridley Scott got some of the inspiration for Alien, then look no further. Terrore nello spazio (Planet of vampires), Mario Bava’s classic from 1965 has many similarities. Check out this scene where the scientists enter the ancient shipwreck, only to find skeletal remains of huge aliens.

Teaser for the next Star Trek movie

Posted on Jan. 11th 2008 18:36 by Bjorn No Comments »

Actually it’s a fan made fake teaser - the real one will be shown together with Cloverfield. Still, it looks pretty cool. Created by VFX artist Daniel Broadway.

Second trailer for CJ7

Posted on Jan. 10th 2008 19:41 by Bjorn No Comments »

A second trailer for Stephen Chow’s next sci fi comedy has been released. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any English version of it yet, but I’ll run it anyway and update when it does. Edit: English trailer added.

IQ-145

Posted on Jan. 9th 2008 20:46 by Bjorn No Comments »

It is not my measured IQ (which is a bit lower than that) but the name of a new web series to be released through SciFiStudios.com and IQ-145.com. “Son of a renowned, inventor/futurist father, who has mysteriously commited suicide; Nate Palmer (T.DEKKER) is recruited by a secret organization to help search for his fathers last experiment… only to discover that he may be the experiment itself.”

Roger Corman’s Battle Beyond the Sun

Posted on Jan. 8th 2008 22:08 by Bjorn No Comments »

The original soviet version of this movie was called Nebo zovyot. This is the trailer for the re-edited US version with new monster footage. Produced by king of B-movies Roger Corman and directed by (big surprise here!) Francis Ford Coppola, under the pseudonym Thomas Colchart. I wonder where they got the inspiration for the design of the monsters…

Appleseed Ex Machina on DVD in March

The Humanoid

Posted on Jan. 3rd 2008 21:42 by Bjorn No Comments »

The Humanoid from 1979, is another one of those late 70’s, early 80’s Star Wars rippoffs that you’ve never heard about. In this unforgettable scene, Princely Hero fights Lord Graal, a rather comic figure that looks like a cheap ass version of Darth Vader crossed with a plastic Samurai.
