First five minutes of Teeth

Posted on Jan. 14th 2008 22:33 by Bjorn No Comments »

Horror comedy Teeth opens this week in USA, but you can already enjoy the first five minutes online. Dawn isn’t shaped quite like the other girls in class. She is a living example of the vagina dentata myth.

Planet of vampires

If you ever wonder where Ridley Scott got some of the inspiration for Alien, then look no further. Terrore nello spazio (Planet of vampires), Mario Bava’s classic from 1965 has many similarities. Check out this scene where the scientists enter the ancient shipwreck, only to find skeletal remains of huge aliens.

George A. Romero’s Diary of the dead

Posted on Jan. 11th 2008 18:51 by Bjorn 1 Comment »

This grand dad of horror basically re-invented the zombie genre back in 1968 with Night of the Living Dead, and he hasn’t stopped filming yet. George A. Romero’s latest effort is about a film crew that is making a documentary about an acute case of zombie infestation.

The Signal Red band trailer

Posted on Jan. 11th 2008 9:08 by Bjorn No Comments »

IGN has posted the red band trailer for the indie horror The Signal. I think it’s very similar to the previous trailer that was released, but this might be a bit more violent and show just a tiny bit more red. So kids - remember to close your eyes now…

Norwegian horror in “Rovdyr”

Posted on Jan. 6th 2008 18:50 by Bjorn No Comments »

Norway, summer of 1974. Four young people are heading for a relaxed weekend in the forest. At a rest stop they get into trouble with one of the locals (can you hear the sound of a distant banjo?). Soon thereafter they are attacked and knocked unconscious. When they wake up they find themselves deep inside a dark forest. The hunt is on and they are the prey.

Uwe Boll, the director we all love to hate, returns to horror with Seed. His last effort at least had a decent trailer, but this one… well… does not. :)

Pop Skull

Posted on Dec. 28th 2007 17:24 by Bjorn 1 Comment »

Shot on an extremely low budget, Pop Skull is a little horror movie that is getting a lot of rave at the moment. In this complex melt of art film and ghost story, a young man addicted to pills has difficulty to cope with his daily life as it’s increasingly influenced by murderous spirits.

Orson Welles in The Witching

Posted on Dec. 26th 2007 15:47 by Bjorn No Comments »

Forever an important part of movie (and radio) history, Orson Welles also starred in several movies of questionable quality later in his career. The Witching (aka Necromancy) will probably not go into history as one of his greatest.

Funny horror movie trailers from the 70s

Posted on Dec. 25th 2007 12:35 by Bjorn 1 Comment »

This is a collection of trailers that were intended to be scary and tease the viewer to go see the movie. Instead they are so over the top and typical of the 70s era that the only reaction they can provoke today is laughter. Click play to see some stunning footage from unknown classics like Lady Frankenstein, Beyond the darkness, Beyond the door, The night child, The legend of the wolf woman, Orgy of the living dead and The night Evelyn came out of the grave.
