The sword and the sorcerer

Posted on Apr. 11th 2008 0:11 by Bjorn No Comments »

Albert Pyun has directed a lot of crazy films. Among the most memorable are Cyborg (1989) and Nemesis (1993). His directional debut from 1982 is the Conan-inspired The Sword and the Sorcerer. I haven’t seen it, but judging from the trailer it’s loads of fun.

Have to remind you of this masterpiece! Bought the 3 DVD Boxset with the Xtro trilogy. And I’m amazed how “slimey” they still are, and there is some “horror” in them still :) Enjoy!

The Barbarians

What to write about this one? Well I have actually seen it on VHS back in the 80s. I remember I thought it was really funny and I suspect I would find it as amusing if I saw it again today. Starring the mega-beefed up twin brothers of body building Peter Paul and David Paul.

Joysticks - Cheesy 80s comedy

Posted on Nov. 25th 2007 13:24 by Bjorn No Comments »

Arcade games were huge during the late 70s and early 80s. Of course they had to make movies to capitalize on the phenomena. The last starfighter is an example of a good one. Joysticks however is not. It’s a sub standard cheesy comedy with lots of arcade games and pointless nudity, 80s style.
